Youth Dental Care Working Group
Youth Dental Care Working Group
The district's youth dental care working group has the task of promoting dental health, especially in kindergartens and schools - for example, through oral hygiene, nutritional counselling and enamel hardening. For example, all day-care centres in the district are supervised by so-called sponsor dentists. They regularly visit the kindergartens and carry out dental hygiene exercises and nutritional counselling with the children. They also advise and inform the educational staff and parents. The youth dental care working group also provides toothbrushes free of charge and offers training on group prophylaxis for the sponsor dentists and their teams as well as the educational staff in the day-care centres.
The district offices of the Hesse State Dental Association, the Hesse Association of Statutory Health Insurance Dentists and the local health insurance funds as well as the youth dental service of the public health department are equally represented in the working group. The working group is integrated into the Hesse State Working Group on Youth Dental Care and pursues exclusively non-profit purposes.
