LGBTIQ*
The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg supports equality for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans*, inter* and queer people and is committed to ensuring that people can live openly and well regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity.
We are committed to promoting queer structures, creating public awareness and using awareness-raising measures to reduce discrimination and promote acceptance.
The abbreviation LSBTIQ* stands for: lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, inter and queer. The asterisk symbolises all other genders and identities. It is used to designate the diversity of gender and sexual identities. We also use the term queer in this context.
An overview of relevant terms and abbreviations can be found here: Quick & Queer brochure
