Regional development
Local action groups from Waldeck-Frankenberg are a strong driving force in regional development - and with the support of European funding they ensure the constant further development of the region. They formulate goals, develop strategies and record these in a regional development concept.
On the basis of this, various measures are promoted in Waldeck-Frankenberg, including, for example, the establishment of micro-enterprises with the creation of jobs, the establishment of tourism micro-enterprises, projects for the provision of public services or other projects for the design of rural areas.
The EU programme LEADER (Liaison Entre Actions de Dévelopement de l'Économie Rurale) is an important funding instrument and is a methodical approach to rural regional development. Funded projects are located in so-called "LEADER regions". In the current funding period 2014-2020, there are three LEADER regions in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district: Burgwald-Ederbergland, Kellerwald-Edersee and Naturpark Diemelsee, which cover the entire Waldeck-Frankenberg district and parts of neighbouring districts.
