Democracy Talk North Hesse: "Right-wing populism & right-wing extremism in social networks & messengers"

Children and young people are increasingly confronted with right-wing populist, extreme and radical posts, comments and stickers on social networks and messengers such as TikTok, Instagram and WhatsApp. The platforms' algorithms are fuelling the visibility of this media content. This allows them to reach and influence more and more young people.

In the online workshop, media educators Heiko Wolf and Hannes Spicker show the current significance of right-wing populist content and how it can be dealt with in educational work as well as with family and friends. In addition to a theoretical part, practical exercises and educational materials will be presented. Finally, there will be time for dialogue and discussion.

The event is part of the "Democracy Talks North Hesse" series and will take place via the Zoom platform. The link for participation will be sent out in advance. Please register with the DEXT office of the Werra-Meißner district at DEXT@werra-meissner-kreis.de. Registration is possible until 26 June. The format is funded by the state programme "Hessen - active for democracy and against extremism".
