Online registration

Registering or deregistering a car, motorbike, etc. - this is possible in Waldeck-Frankenberg not only in person at the registration offices of the district, but also easily and conveniently online with just a few clicks from home. The prerequisite for this is possession of the new electronic identity card in cheque card format, in which the online identity card function is automatically integrated. This enables every citizen to identify himself or herself on the internet, and to take care of administrative or business matters electronically - including registering and deregistering vehicles. The online ID function can be activated by your home town or municipality. Together with an appropriate card reader or the so-called "AusweisApp2" of the federal government, you can register or deregister your vehicle.

When using the online services, it is only important to note that deregistration and re-registration of vehicles without a change of owner is only possible for vehicles that have been registered for traffic since 2015. In the case of registration with a change of keeper, the vehicle must have previously been registered from 2018. This is because only in these cases do the vehicle documents and stamped plates show the required hidden security codes, which must be uncovered for identification and entered into the online form. These codes are still missing for vehicles registered before the aforementioned cut-off dates, so that they must still be deregistered or registered in person and by appointment on site.
