Fire prevention education

Educating people about fire prevention, the proper handling of fire, how to behave in case of fire and how to help themselves in case of fire is an important task in preventive fire protection. Unfortunately, accidents - some of them serious - occur time and again when dealing with fire and flammable substances. Children are often affected because they have not learned how to deal with dangerous situations.

Children are most at risk in fires and burn injuries can affect them for the rest of their lives. Children must therefore be made aware of the dangers of fires as early as possible. Fire safety education and information makes the consequences of incorrect handling of fire and ignorance of correct behaviour in the event of a fire comprehensible.

The district has therefore appointed an honorary district fire chief to support the fire brigades, kindergartens and primary schools. Further information is available from the district's emergency services, fire and disaster control department.
