District Administrator supports school company "Heimatspiel"

The student company "Heimatspiel" at Hans-Viessmann-Schule in Frankenberg designs games suitable for children and offers them for sale. In addition to the aim of using the games to familiarise kindergarten and primary school children with the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg, the pupils also learn interesting facts about entrepreneurial structures. Last week, District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst visited Frankenberg to take a look at the school company and support the pupils in their project by purchasing five sponsorship vouchers.

From setting up a company to sales: the 41 students in the two vocational baccalaureate classes in business and administration at the Hans Viessmann School in Frankenberg learn a lot about entrepreneurship in the school company. Whether it's marketing the games or registering with the tax office, they learn a lot of interesting facts in the school company and thus optimally prepare themselves for their entry into professional life. "In addition to the usual theoretical knowledge that is taught at school, the school company offers the opportunity to deepen this knowledge in practice and gain experience that goes a long way towards preparing them for their entry into working life. I am happy to support the pupils in their endeavours," explained District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst during his visit to the Hans Viessmann School.

The school company "Heimatspiel" raised its start-up capital through the sale of promotional vouchers in order to be able to launch its products on the market. "Heimatspiel" has already recorded its first sales. Of 100 games, 97 have already been sold. The memory games have been very popular in the local bookshop and at Christmas markets, among other places. "As we couldn't estimate exactly how well our product would be received on the market at the beginning, we initially ordered 100 games. We have already ordered more games to meet the demand," reported the pupils of the school company "Heimatspiel".

The first game created by the school company is a card sorting game - also known as "memory". The cards contain photos of beautiful corners of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district, some of which were provided for the product by a professional photographer, but also by the pupils themselves. In order to broaden its product range, the company will also be offering a quiz in future. Anyone who would like to find out more about the products and support the school company "Heimatspiel" can send an e-mail to heimatspiel@gmail.com.
