Geopark has two new experts for guided tours
In future, the GrenzWelten National Geopark will be able to rely on even more specialist staff to introduce interested visitors to the geological features of the region. After more than a year of intensive, but above all entertaining training, one lady and one gentleman have passed their exams to become geopark guides. Another "trainee" was unable to take part in the exam due to illness and will be tested later. She has already completed the entire training programme. All three candidates come from the Marsberg region and will also carry out their work there.
Geopark manager Dr Georg Bresser warmly welcomed the new geopark guide and the new geopark guide, soon to be the second person to be certified, personally and on behalf of the dedicated GrenzWelten team. "We are looking forward to the guided tours that they want to offer in the coming season," emphasised Bresser. The Marsberg region is characterised by its exciting and diverse geology, the deposits and the resulting natural areas. The long history of the utilisation of the natural areas and the settlement of this region also deserve special mention.
The examination was conducted by geopark manager Bresser and the three geopark guides Michael Hefer, Manfred Pauly and Gerd Rosenkranz. Gerd Rosenkranz was the main supervisor of the training, and Bresser expressed his special thanks to him for his commitment. The new experts for geopark tours are Susanne Henke-Skroch, who is already active as a nature park guide. The second addition to the team is entrepreneur Martin Mühlenbein, whose interest in the exciting and diverse geology, nature and history of the region led him to the Geopark. The third member of the team will be Petra Ackermann, who has been involved with the Kilianstollen in Marsberg for many years and has close ties to the region and the natural areas in and around Marsberg.
