Geopark GrenzWelten event calendar available
Anyone wishing to take part in one of the many events at the GrenzWelten National Geopark can now get an overview of what exactly is on offer in 2025. The new calendar of events is available and can be used as a handy flyer, as a download on digital devices or by taking a look at the Geopark website. The printed flyer can be obtained by telephone or email from the Geopark's contact address and is available to take away from information points such as tourist offices and museums.
As usual, the programme is varied, ranging from guided hikes, museum tours and lectures to cycle tours. Geological secrets of the region can be discovered as well as special features of nature and the landscape. For fans of the prehistoric dachshund Procynosuchus, a hike through 250 million years of geological history is also being offered for the first time this year on the "Werkstein- und Klima-Rundweg in Korbach".
The focus there is on the phenomenon of climate change, which is visualised using all kinds of rocks. If, for example, you have only ever stepped on cobblestones, but would like to delve deeper into their magical world, then the circular route is just right for you. The guided tour uses typical examples to show which paving stones have been used in Korbach since the Middle Ages. The stones also show how the climate has changed over millions of years. Families with children are particularly well catered for - the youngsters are entertained with quiz questions and at the end, a small geological reward awaits the young explorers to take home.
