Frankenberg district hospital hires new doctors
Following the appointment of the new Head of Internal Medicine, Privatdozent Dr Matthias Klingele, in April 2024, Frankenberg District Hospital is delighted to welcome Yaseen Omar as the new Head of the Central Emergency Department from 1 October 2024. Yaseen Omar takes on this position as an experienced specialist in internal medicine and cardiology with the additional qualification of clinical acute and emergency medicine - and in this role will further strengthen the range of care offered by the district hospital.
Thanks to his many years of experience in emergency medicine and his interdisciplinary knowledge in various specialist areas, Yaseen Omar will contribute his valuable expertise to the Frankenberg district hospital in future. He previously worked first as a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology and later successfully as section head of the Central Emergency Department at Maria-Hilf Hospital in Brilon. His previous responsibilities included managing the Central Emergency Department and caring for more than 12,000 patients a year, as well as working closely with the emergency services and GP practices and specialists. Yaseen Omar will use his wealth of experience, which he also gained through his professional stations at the Municipal Hospital in Dessau, the Hospital in Arnsberg and the Marien Hospital in Witten, to continuously develop the Central Emergency Department at Frankenberg District Hospital.
In addition to this, the specialist in internal medicine and cardiology will also support the interdisciplinary collaboration at Frankenberg District Hospital with his cardiological expertise. Patients with cardiological conditions such as cardiac insufficiency or arrhythmia, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease are already receiving comprehensive care from the experienced team led by the new Head Physician Dr Matthias Klingele in the hospital's Department of Internal Medicine. The addition of Yaseen Omar to the team of doctors will further strengthen the district clinic in the field of internal medicine and cardiology. The close cooperation and interlinking with specialised clinics in the district hospital complements the range of care on offer in the southern district.
Frankenberg District Hospital and the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg as the public body responsible for the hospital see the appointment of the two new doctors, Yaseen Omar and Privatdozent Dr Matthias Klingele, as very positive. "Thanks to the professional competence of our new doctors and the expertise of our established and experienced team of doctors together with our nursing staff, we can offer a close-knit and diverse range of care and excellent medical care in Frankenberg," emphasises Margarete Janson, Managing Director of the clinic.
Even against the background of the nationwide hospital reform and the planned merger with the Korbach municipal hospital, the medical reinforcement in Frankenberg is a major gain. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg and the town of Korbach, as the owners of the hospitals, are working on a joint strategy for the clinics in Frankenberg and Korbach. The aim of the possible merger is to organise both locations in such a way that they can continue to offer the best possible healthcare in the future. With rising costs, falling investment funding and an acute shortage of skilled staff, the hospitals will no longer be able to do this alone in future.
"We want to create the best structural conditions in Waldeck-Frankenberg in order to continue to be awarded care contracts by the state of Hesse for the broadest possible range of treatments," says District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst, who is also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the district hospital. "The co-operation between the two clinics as one hospital at two locations can significantly increase the chances of this happening. As a joint organisation, we have much better prerequisites than on our own." The clinics are both to be made fit for the future. "When merging, it is important to us that the two hospitals merge on an equal footing and with the involvement of staff representatives. No hospital should be favoured or disadvantaged. It's all about the cause: providing the best possible medical care for people throughout the district," emphasised Karl-Friedrich Frese, First District Councillor and Head of the Health Department, and Jürgen van der Horst together once again.
