District opens new Frankenberg administrative centre in Jahnstraße

After a good year of construction, the district has opened a new administrative centre in Frankenberger Jahnstraße. Many specialist services that were previously housed in decentralised locations now have a new shared location.

Due to the demolition of the east wing of the district administration office on Bahnhofstrasse in Frankenberg, the specialist services formerly located there were temporarily housed in decentralised rented premises - in Auestrasse and Stoelker-Strasse in Schreufa. The administrative centre on Bahnhofstrasse was restructured in the process. With the completion of the administrative office on Jahnstrasse, many departments can now move back into a central administrative building of the district - namely the specialist services for the environment and climate protection, construction, village and regional development, rescue services, fire and disaster control as well as the specialist service for traffic with the Frankenberg registration and driving licence office.

The building was constructed by FingerHaus and leased to the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg for an initial period of 25 years. It offers space for around 60 new workplaces with modern equipment on the ground floor and first floor. In addition to the administrative office, the building also houses rented residential units.
