District hospital organises transitional operations - hotline for patients

Following the fire at Frankenberg District Hospital, the hospital has reorganised its operations at short notice and will be offering all services again from next week - albeit with some restrictions. Patients can come to the hospital with emergencies. The hospital has also set up a hotline on 06451 - 55 1515, which is available daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., to clarify any unanswered questions.

The fire in the old building and the resulting smoke have particularly affected some wards with patient rooms, the paediatric practice and the medical care centre. The medical and nursing teams are waiting in the wings - and the clinic has reorganised its operations flexibly.

Paediatric practice in the school centre for nursing professions
Malakeh Dali's paediatric practice will therefore be housed in the neighbouring school centre for nursing professions. Unfortunately, the agreed appointments have been cancelled until further notice. However, an acute consultation hour has been set up: Parents can come to the practice with their children in emergencies.

MVZ operations in replacement premises
The operation of the medical care centre has also been reorganised accordingly. Patients who have an appointment for an operation will be contacted to find out whether the procedure can take place as planned. Follow-up appointments that have already been arranged will take place as usual. The same applies to the agreed regular consultation appointments or the open consultation hours. Until further notice, these appointments will take place on the premises of the Central Emergency Department at the main entrance to the hospital.

The operation of the specialist departments of gynaecology and obstetrics, surgery, internal medicine and geriatrics has also been flexibly adapted: All medical services are offered. Most of the planned operations are also taking place. However, all patients who have an appointment will be contacted again in person. Only the endoscopy appointments cannot take place again at the moment. The consultation hours of the on-call medical service (ÄBD) of the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians cannot take place at the district hospital at the moment either. However, patients can still contact 116 117 and receive information on where the consultation hours will be held temporarily.

Delivery room is available
The delivery room and obstetrics department are also available without restrictions: Births will take place as usual at the district hospital. The information evening for parents-to-be scheduled for Tuesday, 5 November at 7 pm, including a tour of the delivery room, will also take place as usual. The meeting point is the waiting area at the main entrance.

Emergency cases receive comprehensive care
Patients who come to the hospital independently as an emergency will also receive comprehensive care. They can come to the district hospital with all emergencies as before and receive unrestricted care - even as inpatients. The Central Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"Together with our medical, nursing and administrative teams, we have reorganised our operations at short notice," says Margarete Janson, Managing Director of the clinic. "We can offer all medical services - partly in replacement rooms. As the fire affected patient rooms in particular, we are only less able to provide inpatient care than usual." The clinic management would like to thank the entire team for their commitment. The district clinic also provides all the latest information online on its website.
