Further training for healthcare professionals in 2025

From January 2025, a new qualification course for family midwives and family, health and paediatric nurses will take place in Frankfurt am Main, organised by Start gGmbh on behalf of the Hessian Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Sport, Health and Care. Certified midwives and certified healthcare and paediatric nurses as well as employees in comparable healthcare professions with two years of professional experience are eligible for further training.

For many years, healthcare professionals such as midwives and healthcare and paediatric nurses with appropriate additional qualifications have been working in the area of early help in the district. They advise and support parents and families with babies and toddlers up to the age of three. The aim is to promote health and development in the first years of life. Early help is aimed in particular at families in stressful situations if they need extended psychosocial support within their life situation that goes beyond the general, health insurance-financed help after the birth.

For example, counselling can be provided on the child's physical and emotional development or on nutritional issues. They can also provide suggestions for a good and successful bond with the child. The specialists are part of the early help network, they provide support with questions about support options for children and, if necessary, refer them to other suitable centres within the network. Particularly important: there are no costs for utilising the early help services, they are low-threshold and non-discriminatory.

Anyone interested in training to become a health professional with the aim of working for the district in the field of early help can submit an expression of interest. The work for the district can start in parallel, i.e. alongside the job and at the same time as the further training. For more information, please contact the district's youth department at bettina.goetz@lkwafkb.de or call 05631 954-1642, where you will also find further information on the detailed schedule and dates. Expressions of interest are possible until 31 December 2024. Register online now.
