Certificate handover: New childminders in the district

First District Councillor and Head of the Youth Department Karl-Friedrich Frese recently welcomed eleven new childminders to the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg - and presented them with their certificates at a small ceremony.

480 hours of training
300 hours of theory, 100 hours of self-study units and 80 hours of practical training have been completed by the graduates of the child day care qualification programme, which was run by the district adult education centre as an educational partner over the past few months. "The demand for childcare services has changed in recent years. We need more individual childcare options, for example for working parents," says Karl-Friedrich Frese. "The qualification of childminders is therefore a perfect addition to the existing daycare centre offer."

Eleven new carers
Karl-Friedrich Frese, Uta Opper-Fiedler and Markus Pfeil from the district adult education centre and Andreas Strake, Rebekka Steuber and Monika Padberg-Koert from the district's youth department were all the more pleased to recently present a total of eleven new carers with their certificates. Balcha Dawit-Ruth, Franziska Kersting, Nancy König, Fortuna Weltecke, Natascha Danci, Ramona Jordan, Lothar Jordan, Kathrin Henze, Lilia Lang and Nicole Yavus completed the qualification.

Honours for long-standing childminders
However, it was not only the graduates who were honoured during the ceremony. The commitment of long-standing childminders was also honoured: Iris Burgart from Diemelsee has been doing the job for 15 years; Anita Schwabeland from Gemünden for 25 years. During the ceremony, the first district councillor thanked both of them for their many years of service.
