Waffle for a donation: District junior staff collect 844.50 euros

At the premiere two years ago, the children's cancer charity benefited; last year, the "Frauen helfen Frauen e. V. Waldeck-Frankenberg" association was delighted with the windfall. This year, the "Tierschutzverein Korbach und Umgebung e. V." (animal welfare organisation Korbach and the surrounding area) thanked the trainees and students from the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg for their donations. Fresh waffles were once again offered to employees of the district administration in return for a voluntary donation.

In total, the trainees and students served over 300 portions and raised 844.50 euros. Mr Jürgen Mathee from the association's board was delighted with the well-filled donation box. District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst and First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese also took the opportunity to place their contribution in the donation box and hand it over together with the hard-working waffle bakers. "We are proud that our trainees and students started the campaign on their own initiative two years ago and are continuing it with great enthusiasm," said the two department heads. Every administration would like to have such highly motivated junior staff. The District Administrator and First District Councillor also thanked the "Tierschutzverein Korbach und Umgebung e. V." for its valuable and important work and the KreisBar for making the waffle dough.
