Years with the district - Wulf-Dieter Bohland celebrates anniversary
Wulf-Dieter Bohland celebrated a special service anniversary: he has been working for the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg for four decades. He works in the Food Monitoring, Animal Welfare and Veterinary Services department, where Bohland is currently part of a dedicated team responsible for animal health and welfare as well as animal disease control. First District Councillor and responsible department head Karl-Friedrich Frese honoured the 40-year veteran with a certificate and thanked him for his decades of commitment to animal welfare.
"40 years with the same employer is a very rare anniversary in this day and age," emphasised Frese. It not only shows Mr Bohland's close ties to "his" authority. Above all, the 40 years with the district administration could also be seen as an indication that the jubilarian never saw his work as just a job to earn money, but above all as a task and an obligation. Head of department Dr Anke Zwolinski added: "Over the 40 years, Mr Bohland has always been an excellent mediator between farmers and the authorities."
As a certified master farmer, Wulf-Dieter Bohland has also passed the meat and trichinella inspector examination. He has worked in this capacity at the former State Veterinary Office since November 1984, initially on a part-time basis and since September 1997 as a full-time meat inspector. He has been working as an animal health inspector since August 2001 and his duties include the inspection of livestock farms, both routinely and on the basis of information, as well as feed hygiene. In the area of animal disease control, he is mainly responsible for monitoring livestock farms at risk of disease.
