Administrative offices of the district closed between the years
The administrative offices of the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg in Korbach, Frankenberg and Dorfitter will be closed from 27 to 29 December this year. The district's central control centre is of course exempt from this regulation. There is also a special arrangement for the waste disposal facilities and the registration offices.
Control centres staffed 365 days a year
Due to the closure between the years, regular operations in the district administration will be suspended for a total of ten consecutive days - including public holidays and weekends. The central control centre in Korbach district hall is of course exempt from the closure: it is staffed around the clock 365 days a year.
Special opening hours for waste disposal facilities
The waste disposal facilities in Bad Wildungen, Flechtdort and Geismar will also be open between the years: Bad Wildungen will be closed on 23 and 30 December, but will be open on 27 and 28 December from 8 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 4 pm and on 29 December from 8 am to 1.30 pm. Flechtdorf is open on 23 and 30 December from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on 27 and 28 December from 8 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and from 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. and also on 29 December from 8 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Geismar is open on 23 December from 8 am to 12 noon, on 27 and 28 December from 8 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 4 pm, and on 29 December from 8 am to 12.30 pm and from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm and on 30 December from 8 am to 12 noon. However, the waste advice hotline is not manned between the years.
Appointments at the registration office by appointment
The registration offices in Frankenberg and Battenberg are also open in the mornings between the years - but only by prior appointment. Frankenberg can be reached on the hotline 05631 954-1620 and Battenberg on 06452 9344-30 and 9344-31 or online at www.landkreis-waldeck-frankenberg.de/onlinetermin. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to drop by spontaneously. Only customers who have confirmed an appointment in advance can be received. The Traffic Department asks for your understanding for this procedure. This makes it easier for both the administration and citizens to plan office hours.
Closure to save energy
This year, we have once again decided to close our centres between the years to save energy," explains District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst. The energy situation has eased slightly this winter. Nevertheless, it is still important to save energy wherever possible. "The fact that between the years is a popular holiday period anyway has also reinforced our decision." Due to the closure of the administrative offices, there is virtually no need to heat, light or supply electricity to the premises on the following ten days. "We therefore ask for your understanding for this measure."
Customers of the district administration are asked to deal with urgent matters that need to be dealt with in person by the week before Christmas if possible. In this context, the district administration would also like to point out once again that numerous applications to the district administration in various subject areas can already be submitted online.
