700 euros for the organisation Frauen helfen Frauen
The smell of freshly baked waffles filled the noses of visitors to the district administration in Korbach and Frankenberg last week: the trainees and students of the district administration once again organised a day of action for a good cause this year - and baked waffles for the employees and neighbouring authorities in order to donate the proceeds to Frauen helfen Frauen e.V. Waldeck-Frankenberg. This year, they baked the delicacies in Korbach and Frankenberg.
54 litres of dough: the campaign raised over 700 euros for a good cause thanks to donations from employees of the district and neighbouring authorities. The chairman of the district council also organised a few waffles for the committee meeting and put 100 euros in the donation box. The trainees and students at the district offices in Korbach and Frankenberg got to work on the waffle irons and baked diligently. The waffle taxi travelled to the nearby administrative offices in Korbach to supply colleagues not based in the district building with the delicious pastries. "After the campaign was so well received by employees last year, we didn't have to think twice about offering waffles again this year and collecting them for a good cause," explained the trainees and students of the district administration.
Gundula Schmieding from the executive team of the Frauen helfen Frauen association was delighted with the campaign: "We are thrilled with this commitment and are really delighted with the donation. We would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you on behalf of the women and children." Together with the trainees, students and Viktoria Lichanow - from the training management team - District Administrator Jürgen van der Horst and First District Councillor Karl-Friedrich Frese symbolically handed over the donation box. "We are delighted that our trainees and students are once again getting involved and have once again organised this campaign. This shows once again that we have highly motivated junior staff. We would also like to thank the Frauen helfen Frauen association for their commitment and their important work," said the District Administrator.
The idea for the charity campaign was realised for the second time this year. Last year, the proceeds were donated to the Kinderkrebshilfe Waldeck-Frankenberg e. V. children's cancer charity. "We would like to bake waffles for a good cause again next year. We'll decide as a team who the donation will go to," explained the trainees and students.
