Self-help walking tour on 14 September in Bad Arolsen

This year, the Self-Help Contact Point will once again be holding its popular walking tour on 14 September. The destination this time is the residential town of Bad Arolsen, starting at 9 am at Belgischer Platz (supermarket car park, in front of the barracks buildings). The walk lasts about three hours and covers a distance of about four kilometres. All self-help activists or those interested in self-help are cordially invited to participate.

Through the new Thiele floodplain and further through a romantic little forest along the Thiele stream, there are several stops along the way where information about self-help work in connection with nature therapy is provided. The aim of the event is to find relaxation, strength, vitality and new self-help contacts while walking together outside. Each participant is responsible for their own food and drink. Sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing are recommended.

For better planning of the walk, registration is requested by e-mail shk@lkwafkb.de or phone 05631 954-888 by 12 September . The Self-Help Contact Point is also available for enquiries under the same contact details.

Background
In a self-help group, people meet who suffer from a similar problem, illness or disability. The self-help contact point of the Waldeck- Frankenberg district supports the groups in the district in their work. Self-help is an important pillar of the German health system, emphasise the staff of the contact point. In addition, self-help effectively complements the professional work of doctors and therapists. Chronically ill people and people in particularly stressful life situations receive advice and support in the groups, find solutions together and help themselves and others in the process. The self-help contact point of the district therefore aims to spread the idea of self-help through educational work and thus create a self-help-friendly climate in the district.
