In Flechtdorf: Dispose of green waste, take compost with you

Delivering tree and shrub cuttings directly to the Flechtdorf landfill and at the same time taking away new garden soil, bark mulch or the popular WaFraHum compost is now possible again for private individuals. What had to be discontinued a few years ago due to changed regulations could be resumed through a structural adjustment. The recycling concept "dispose of green waste - gain compost" is thus once again taken into account. Representatives of the companies involved presented the "new" offer at the Diemelsee-Flechtdorf district landfill site.

"We are pleased that, in addition to commercial customers, private customers can now also take the green commercial goods from our composting plant directly after their delivery of green waste," says First District Councillor and Head of Waste Management Karl-Friedrich Frese. This has been made possible by a circular route with one-way traffic regulation and a new, roofed collection station. This ensures that private and commercial deliveries can be made separately from each other, as required by the legal occupational health and safety regulations.

The composting plant with its merchandise is operated by BBL Biomasse- und Brennstofflogistik GmbH of Maschinenring Waldeck-Frankenberg, which welcomes the fact that it can now sell the products to the public locally again in the northern district as it did in the southern district, in Frankenberg-Geismar. "At the time, we were extremely sorry to have to discontinue the offer due to the change in regulations here in Flechtdorf and would have liked to keep it," emphasises Chairman Ralph Heinemann. Because the BBL is of course interested in a complete solution for the citizens and the municipalities. The operators were all the more pleased with the structural adjustments that made just such a solution possible. Deliveries of tree and shrub cuttings and the purchase of green trade goods are possible during the opening hours of the composting plants in Diemelsee-Flechtdorf and Frankenberg-Geismar.
