District offers swimming courses for children

Together with the Waldeck-Frankenberg sports district, the district is again offering weekly courses this year to teach children between the ages of four and nine how to swim in the swimming pool at the Paul Zimmermann School in Korbach. Interested parties can register for these courses now.

The courses always take place on Wednesdays from 3.15 pm to 5.30 pm and start after the Easter holidays. The first date will be 26 April, the last on 18 July just before the start of the summer holidays. The costs are 60 euros one-time per child. The courses are led by swimming instructor and sports scientist Lukas Goos. The courses are not only intended to give the children an introduction to swimming. Another important goal is to prevent possible swimming accidents. The courses familiarise the children with the water and teach them the first basic techniques of swimming.

Parents can now register their children for the courses online at the Sports and Youth Work Department. If you have any questions about the swimming courses, please contact the sports and youth work department at 05631 954-563 or julia.stracke@lkwafkb.de. There are a total of 18 places available, which will be allocated after receipt of registration.

The following also applies to the courses: The meeting point is always ten minutes before the start of the course at the entrance to the swimming pool. Swimwear and a towel are required, as well as water wings if available and "practical" clothes so that changing does not take too much time. Any jewellery should be left at home so that it does not get lost. The exercise management cannot accept any liability for valuables such as jewellery, money or watches and will not accept them for safekeeping.
