Supporting refugees: District hires interpreters

People seeking protection from Ukraine should receive targeted assistance in Germany as quickly as possible. This also includes the official registration and application for assistance. Ukrainian refugees are now supported by two interpreters for personal appointments with the district authorities.

In the administrative offices of the district in Korbach and Frankenberg, they help refugees overcome language barriers and initiate the requirements for assistance as quickly as possible. This includes, among other things, registration and various applications.

The interpreters are available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the personal appearances of Ukrainian protection seekers at the district office. In exceptional cases, individual appointments can also be made. In addition, on Tuesdays and Fridays - from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in each case - they will also support the district administration's Ukraine hotline on tel. 05631 - 954 5000.

The district is currently working at full speed to complete all applications as quickly as possible. To this end, the teams of the specialised services involved have been temporarily reinforced by additional staff. However, due to the large number of applications and also due to illness, there may be delays in processing.
