County calls for prudence: No fireworks on New Year's Eve
This year, for the second time in a row, the federal government has banned the sale of fireworks on New Year's Eve. According to the Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of Hesse, the setting off of fireworks in public places with a high level of publicity is only prohibited if the locally responsible authority has designated these places. Although the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg has not made use of this possibility, it nevertheless calls on people not to burn firecrackers and rockets that may still be in their cellars from previous years this year. One of the reasons for this is that the hospitals in Waldeck-Frankenberg and beyond the district borders, which are already burdened by the coronavirus, should not be additionally stressed by firework injuries.
