District extends opening hours of vaccination centres until the end of the year
Through the mini-vaccination centres in the district area, the Waldeck-Frankenberg district has been supporting the general practitioners' practices in the vaccination campaign for several weeks. Until the end of the year, the opening hours have even been extended. In all centres, vaccinations take place without an appointment. All vaccination centres are closed over the holidays.
Additional appointments in Bad Wildungen and Frankenberg
In Bad Wildungen and Frankenberg - in addition to the regular opening hours - another vaccination day per week will be added from next week until the end of the year. The mini-vaccination centre in Frankenberg, which is located in the premises in the lower building of the district hospital Frankenberg in Forststraße 9a, will therefore not only be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, but then also on Mondays. This results in the following opening hours for the rest of the year: 20, 22, 27 and 29 December from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, 18 December from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In Bad Wildungen, too, the centre, which is located in the Breiter Hagen school, will be open this year on 22, 27 and 29 December from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, 18 December from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a special vaccination day on 19 December at Dr Martin Schnaubelt's practice in Brunnenalle 13. In addition, there will be a special vaccination day on 19 December at Dr Martin Schnaubelt's practice in Bad Wildung, Brunnenallee 13. In Bad Arolsen and Sachsenhausen, vaccinations will still take place this year on Saturday, 18 December, from 9 am to 1 pm.
Extended hours also in Korbach
The vaccination centre in the small Hauerhalle in Korbach will be open every working day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. next week from 20 December up to and including 23 December. The two mRNA vaccines from Moderna and BionTech & Pfizer are available for vaccination. According to the STIKO recommendation, those under 30 and pregnant women should only receive the vaccine from BionTech. This is then vaccinated on the days the vaccination centre is open, on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the Korbach mini-vaccination centre, mainly to under-30s and pregnant women. People over 30 are offered vaccination with Moderna in Korbach on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the opening hours of the vaccination centre.
Child vaccinations between the years
From 27 December up to and including 30 December, vaccinations will be offered in Korbach exclusively for children from the age of five and adolescents as well as their legal guardians from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Following the extension of the STIKO recommendation, the district has created the corresponding offer at short notice. Special paediatricians are available in Korbach to provide comprehensive information and medical advice on request.
In all centres - with the exception of 27 to 30 December in Korbach - first, second and booster vaccinations are possible. Anyone whose basic immunisation was at least five months ago can have a booster. Those who have been vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can receive a booster vaccination after four weeks. First and second vaccinations are also possible at any time.
Have documents ready
The following documents should always be brought to the vaccination: The health insurance card, an identity document and, if possible, the vaccination certificate. Those who have already been vaccinated should also have the documents of their first or second vaccination ready. In addition, the "Information sheet on vaccination against Covid-19 with mRNA vaccine" must be brought along. Furthermore, the "Medical history and consent form for vaccination against Covid-19 with mRNA vaccine" must be brought along. Both documents should be filled out completely. They can be downloaded from the district's website at www.landkreis-waldeck-frankenberg.de/impfen. Vaccinations will continue at the mini-vaccination centres in the new year. The exact times will be published in good time.
