Second public participation in the cycling concept

With a breath of fresh air into the second round: Since the beginning of this year, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg has been working on a district-wide cycle path concept for everyday cycling. With the cooperation of the new contact person for cycling Nicole Sude, the second public participation will now take place online on 27 August at 4:30 pm.

In order to secure the quality of living and life in the district, sustainable mobility is imperative. The district of Waldeck-Frankenberg would therefore like to adapt the cycle path network even better to the needs of the people. In order for this to be successful, the Department of Construction, which is entrusted with the implementation, is dependent on the feedback of the residents. "In order to be able to adapt the cycle paths to the needs of the citizens, we have to know their wishes. This project therefore thrives on the participation of each and every one of us," explained head of the building department Karl-Friedrich Frese.

The district receives financial support for this project through funds from the Hesse State Directive on the Promotion of Local Mobility. The finished concept is to be successively implemented over the next ten years. At the first citizens' event in March, the project was presented in detail to the participants and the survey was opened after the meeting. On an interactive map, all interested parties could enter route suggestions or comments, among other things. In the meantime, the expert office has reviewed all the reports, examined the entries on the map on site and completed the inventory.

Now the participation goes into the next round. On 27 August 2021 at 4:30 pm, the expert office will present the current status and various measures. Afterwards, the digital participation phase will be opened until 19 September. "In this round, we will again work with the map module and the comment function. Anyone who wants to participate can comment on the various measures and thus contribute their ideas and suggestions," says Nicole Sude.

Pre-registration for the event is not required. Further information on the project and the link to the event can be found at www.landkreis-waldeck-franken-berg.de/radverkehrskonzept . In addition, citizens can also contact the cycling team directly by e-mail at radverkehrskonzept@lkwafkb.de and thus communicate their wishes and suggestions.
