GKV health promotion

In Waldeck-Frankenberg, everyone should be able to feel healthy and well. Therefore, the district of Waldeck-Frankenberg is committed to a good start in life, wants to support a healthy upbringing of children and young people and strengthen them in their development, promote healthy living and working in midlife and a healthy and self-determined life in old age. With the support of the "Municipal Structure Building" project funded by the SHI Alliance for Health, the district has set out to develop a sustainable overall strategy to strengthen health promotion and prevention in the long term.

Together with the citizens, the living conditions in the district are to be designed in a way that promotes health, for example by expanding cycle paths, maintaining green spaces or promoting social support. Citizens should be supported in strengthening their health awareness and health skills. Existing health services are to be coordinated with each other and new services are to be created according to need, so that all people can find access, regardless of age, gender or social status.

To this end, cooperation is to be established with all social actors such as the administration, actors from the field of health promotion and prevention as well as citizens and existing resources in Waldeck-Frankenberg are to be bundled. Beyond the development of suitable structures, the development, coordination and implementation of health-promoting and target group-specific projects and measures are among the tasks.
