School dental service
The dental service provides dental examinations for children in the schools of the district within the framework of the legal provisions. The children also receive prophylactic instruction and education about healthy eating.
Applications for dental treatment in the entire spectrum of dental therapy measures are assessed and expert opinions are prepared. The legal guardians receive notification of the dental situation, treatment or individual prophylaxis for the family dentist. The schools are visited by two staff members to ensure group prophylaxis according to SBG V § 21, prevention of dental diseases(group prophylaxis). The aim is to ensure that all children have the same opportunity to have healthy teeth.
Youth Dental Care Working Group
The task of the district's youth dental care working group is to promote dental health, especially in kindergartens and schools - for example, through oral hygiene, nutritional counselling and enamel hardening.
