Violence is not always physical
In the following cases, although no criminal prosecution is possible, civil law measures and protective measures are possible - because this is also violence:
- Is your partner following or controlling you?
- Does he hide or destroy things that mean a lot to you?
- Is your partner trying to cut off your contact with family and friends?
- Is he accusing you of cheating on him if you come home just a little later than usual?
Criminal offences
The following acts, among others, are punishable by law:
- Insults & verbal abuse
- Death threats
- Coercion & rape
- Sexual abuse of children & wards
- any physical violence such as pushing, slapping, kicking, hitting, etc.
