The Finance and Participations Department is responsible for the budget-related tasks of the district. This includes the preparation and implementation of the budget and supplementary budget, the preparation of the annual accounts and the taking out and administration of loans. It handles cash transactions, collects the district's outstanding debts and is also responsible for the enforcement of public-law claims of the towns and municipalities belonging to the district.
Furthermore, all matters of municipal fiscal equalisation are handled here, the assessment of hunting tax is carried out and tax returns for turnover tax and corporate income tax are submitted. In addition, the department is responsible for special insurance matters of the administration and for claims of the district in consumer insolvency proceedings.
Participations of the district
As part of its economic activities, the district has holdings in numerous private companies and cooperatives.
Budget of the district
The annually prepared budget is the basis for the budgetary and economic management of the Waldeck-Frankenberg district.
